The Pet Photo Booth was conceived in Perth, Western Australia as a tribute to Yvonne Doherty’s hideously ugly and demented poodle Joe Louie. Yvonne desperately wanted a portrait with a likeness to Joe Louie in his younger and cuter days, unfortunately this was no longer possible. Yvonne made it her mission to photograph other people’s pets before they too declined in to shadows of their former selves.

FIRST I LAY WITH ADAM by Sam Duckor-Jones is a personal response to Pride and queerness. His installation features large ceramic vases in neon pink, alongside tiny close-up drawings of hair and skin, crammed into former domestic spaces of the historic Pah Homestead.

Old Energies draws on the creative input of two contemporary artists, Josephine Cachemaille and Alan Ibell, who have produced new work inspired by the Wallace Arts Trust Collection and the Pah Homestead. Both artists playfully cast themselves in the roles of analyst or medium, tasked with exposing and channelling the relationships between the collection works, the historic building and their own art works.
