In 1879 the view of Auckland and surrounds from James Williamson’s newly built tower atop Pah Homestead would have been a far cry from the sprawling cityscape and magnificent mature trees seen from the turret today.
Visitors are invited to climb the narrow winding staircase up to the usually out-of-bounds turret, where a breath-taking 360° view awaits them, followed by a brief discussion about how the vista has changed from the early days of the Pah Homestead and the property’s relationship with the striking landscape of One Tree Hill which can be seen to the northeast.
Tours will run on Tuesday October 3, Wednesday October 4 and Thursday October 5.
Tours will run every half hour between 11.00am – 1.00pm daily, the last tour begins at 12.30pm.
